Slonware is a small, independent software company run by a hands-on engineer. We work on backend systems, integrations and the gradual replacement of software that businesses depend on.
Slonware gives independent engineering work a straightforward business home. Clients contract with Slonware LLC and work directly with the engineer doing the work.
The company is set up for both ongoing work within an existing engineering team and projects with a defined scope. Longer engagements allow time to learn a system, understand the decisions behind it and stay involved as it evolves.
The experience behind Slonware comes from years of building, maintaining and extending production software. That includes business applications, systems integration and cloud platforms, with work ranging from solo development to collaboration with established engineering teams.
Much of that work has involved existing systems: software with useful behavior, accumulated dependencies and people relying on it every day. That background shapes how we approach modernization. Before changing a component, we want to understand what it does, who depends on it and which behavior needs to survive.
Recent experience includes backend development for integration platforms, enterprise connectors and services introduced alongside existing implementations so that consumers could migrate gradually.
We prefer to start with a written description and a few focused questions. Written decisions and progress updates make it easier to keep track of the work. Calls are useful when there is something to resolve together.
Slonware is a small operation. When a project needs complementary expertise, such as a dedicated frontend developer, we can bring in a specialist with the client’s agreement. Responsibilities, access and confidentiality are agreed before they join.
We can work in the client’s repositories and delivery environment. Scope, communication, working-hours overlap and handover expectations are discussed for each engagement.
We provide custom software development through remote, business-to-business contracts.
Wyoming is the company’s jurisdiction of registration. Work is delivered remotely.
