Services

Services

We work on systems integration, software modernization and the backend engineering they require. The work can be an ongoing role within your team or a project with a defined scope.

Systems Integration

We connect applications, services and data sources. This can involve building an API, adding a connector, synchronizing information or replacing a manual transfer between systems.

Typical starting points are duplicated data, recurring reconciliation work or a connection that fails without making the problem visible.

The work includes agreeing which system owns the data, how errors are handled and what operators need to see. Delivery also covers deployment, verification and documentation so the connection can be maintained.

Software Modernization

We help update or replace software that has become difficult to maintain or extend. That might be an unsupported runtime, a tightly coupled component or a system where a small change affects too many other parts.

We first establish which behavior needs to stay and where change can be isolated. A replacement can then be validated alongside the existing system before workflows or consumers move to it.

  1. 01MapUnderstand behavior, dependencies and data ownership.
  2. 02BoundCreate an interface around the part being changed.
  3. 03ParallelCompare the replacement with the existing path.
  4. 04SwitchMove a controlled slice, with fallback where practical.
  5. 05RetireRemove the old component after the new path is stable.

The exact sequence depends on the system. Work may include dependency upgrades, service extraction, API changes, data migration, automated checks and operational tooling.

Existing business rules, integrations and workflows are part of the scope. When knowledge is concentrated in one person or a rewrite has stalled, documenting the current behavior may be the useful first step.

How We Work

We start with a written description and focused questions. Before implementation, we agree the scope, dependencies, access requirements and how the result will be checked.

Work is delivered in reviewable increments. Progress, decisions and changes to the scope are recorded in the agreed project tools. Calls are used when discussion will resolve something faster.

Testing, deployment and documentation are included according to the work being delivered. Code and operational information stay in the client’s repositories and environment, with ownership and handover expectations agreed in the contract.

Engagement options

We support long-term, business-to-business engineering contracts within existing teams, including backend, platform and integration work. We can also take on a defined workstream, a scoped project, an assessment or ongoing maintenance and improvement.

If additional expertise is needed, a specialist can join with your approval. Working-hours overlap, communication and support expectations are agreed for each engagement.
